  • K.N DARUWALA is a former Indian Police Service Officer(IPS).
  • He joined in the service in 1958.
  • He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for his poetry collection the keeper of dead.
  • He was awarded common wealth poetry award in 1987.
  • He was awarded UTTAR PRADESH State award in 1972.
  • His notable/Famous works:-

SUMMARY

Fire-Hymn is a nice heart touching poem. This poem is composed by Keki N. Daruwala. He is a major poet short story writer in English.
In this present poem, The poet explaining his personal Feeling. He describes the burning ghat of Hindu. One days he going to burning ghat with his father. The burning ghat was burning like phos. The passers-by were afraid of fire. The burning ghat was situated on the river bank. The fire swallows everything and changes into grey ash. His father saw him half-burnt-finger. He says that fire sometimes forgets its duty. He sweats that i will save fire from this forget fulness. But, Twenty Years passed. The first child of poet died without any reason. The Tower of Silence was a thousand miles. So, he consigned his son the lop of fire.
At last,
The poet says that i will not run against parsi.
